Why Upgrade to an Aluminum Fan Shroud?
Classic GM vehicles from the 1960s through the 1980s commonly used engine-driven mechanical fans with stamped steel or plastic shrouds. Over time, original shrouds can crack, warp, or lose their seal against the radiator core, allowing airflow to bypass the radiator.
An aluminum fan shroud provides a durable solution that resists cracking, warping, and deterioration under sustained engine-bay heat.
How the Shroud Improves Cooling
Without a shroud, a fan can pull air from around the radiator instead of directly through the radiator core, reducing cooling efficiency at idle and low speeds.
The shroud creates a controlled airflow path between the radiator core and fan, helping direct more airflow through the radiator fins for improved heat extraction.
16" High-Output Electric Fan
The included 16" electric fan delivers up to 3,000 CFM of airflow. Its 10 S-Type blade design is engineered to provide strong airflow while reducing turbulence.
The fan operates on a 12V DC system with a 10A draw and can be configured for push or pull mounting depending on the engine bay layout.
